My review :

DONE!! YES!! I'm finally done with this series! I thought I would never see the end of it! But (thanks audiobooks!) I saw it!  And  it's far from being incredible... I was expecting action, plot twists and all that jazz! I was waiting for suspense, everything going crescendo and epic battle scenes! But nope. Had none of that.
Instead, I had new cheracters (after six books, I thought we already had plenty, my mistake), an unending quest, most of which was plain uninteresting to me, and the characters were more unnerving than usual.

First things first. New characters. Not one or two, non, an entire family! I hated this. I don't see the point in introducing new characters in the last books of a series. Especially less than useful ones. Except for Emma and Julian, the others barely appear in the entire book so what's the point? And even Emma and Julian are not that useful. I don't understand why Cassie Clare added them. Moreover, I had no care for them at all.

Next, most of the book is so damn long... I won't repeat what I already said about the long descriptions but that too was a problem. But the main problem was that most of the book revolves around the quest in the Demon Realm. It was as interesting as a trip in a black hole. If I summarize it, it was "walk, kill a demon, sleep, repeat". Even the battle scenes weren't that good. I wasn't drawn to them. Everything fell flat. Even worse than in the previous book and I didn't think that was possible.

But, I liked the evolution of the world, the discovery of new faces of it. The Demon Realm, what happens to the demons and all that, it was well thought and quite interesting. It definitely brought some interest in me.

As always, I didn't like the characters except for Alec and Magnus. The only thing I really loved was to discover more about Magnus' family and background. That I absolutely loved!
Oh, and Simon... That guy is worse than weed. I believed it! I was about to pop the champagne with what happens to him, his big moment Hunger Games style. But then... damn! Will we ever get rid of him?!

In conclusion, I didn't get hooked. It's not the worst book I read this year but it's not the most exciting. As I said on Goodreads, it was jsut MEH. And that makes me hesitate whether or not I should read the trilogy with Will, Tessa and that other guy of whom I can't remember the nom. In this book, I had a glimpse that made me want to read them but if I had to suffer through the reading... So, tell me if I should read those books or not because I really don't know.
